An aura of mystery and intrigue abounds in this ancient storied region of Transylvania.

Brasov is a medieval city with a resounding ring of authenticity. As the entrance to Transylvania, you’ll find a peace and quiet here not present in more modern places. The pace of life slows down, and your shoulders relax.

You’ll see mountains and forests, centuries old landmarks that are open to guests and visitors and the modern-day interpretation of life in a small village.

Just 10 minutes walk from Council Square, the historic center of Brasov. As you wind your way there down narrow cobblestone streets, you’ll take in a mixture baroque, gothic, and Renaissance architecture.

Enjoy a beverage at one of the outdoor cafes, as you marvel at the rainbow of building facades and listen to the chime of a 13th century clock tower.

In addition to the Council Square, don’t miss the First Romanian School, built around 1500 and the Church of St. Nicholas, which was established in 1292. These are just a short 100 meter walk away from our property.

One more thing to put on your to-see list is the Strada Sforii. Translating to “Rope Street”, it is believed to be one of the narrowest street in all of Europe. At its narrowest point, it is just 44” (111 cm) wide.

The Nikolas Haus History

The owners of this property found their dream home in the Schei district, after years of searching for exactly the right spot. Initially, they thought to keep this gem to themselves, but after the renovations began, and they discovered more and more of their home’s history, they knew they would have to share it with others.

Originally reported as being built in the 18th century, the owners were surprised yet thrilled to discover original wood beams, clearly marked from the 17th century! After additional investigation, they came to find out their dream gem of a home was actually built in 1698.

With this discovery, they vowed to remain true to the history of the home. So, with their 2021 renovation, they found ways to seamlessly blend the exquisite architectural details of centuries past with the conveniences and luxury amenities of today’s world and its discerning travelers.

The result is the incomparable Nikolas Haus.

Apartment and Amenities

The architecture is old, magnificently restored, and charming, the design and decor are new, fresh, and upscale. This balance is what makes the Nikolas Haus so unique. The apartment has a private bathroom with step-in shower, rainfall showerhead, Prija skin and haircare products, Nespresso coffee machines in the kitchen or kitchen area, flat-screen TVs, cable, and WiFi.

Guests are welcome to take advantage of the patio and courtyard, which is a rarity in this neighborhood!

Also guest can easily find free street parking and in case is required we can provide free in house parking based on availability

Adventurous guests may climb the Tampa Mountain either by foot, bicycle, or by cable car. Be on the lookout for native birds, including the raven, the Ural owl, the black woodpecker, the Eurasian nuthatch and many others.
