Buzau (Bodzavásár Hungarian, German Busäu) is a city, the capital and largest city of Buzau County, in the historical region of Wallachia, Romania. With 115,494 inhabitants according to the census of 2011, is the eighteenth most populous city in Romania. The town lies on the right bank of the Buzău River, opposite its output of curvature Carpathian hills, in a temperate region.
