Orsova is a municipality in the County, Banat, Romania. It is located on the shore of Iron Gate I reservoir on the Danube, near the estuary of the Danube River Cerna. At the 2002 census, the city population was 12,967 inhabitants.
Following the completion of Iron Gate reservoir, the old hearth of the city was flooded in 1970, its population was moved to a new location, including the Danube terraces and Cerna Mountains and the southern slope Almaj, where he built a city completely new
(1966-1971), which also incorporated villages Jupalnic, scrub and Coramnic.
