              Zalau is the capital and largest city of Salaj County, Transylvania, Romania.

              Located in northwestern Romania, crossing the Eastern Carpathians and Apuseni Mountains, Salaj County is known from ancient times Silvaniei country, that country forests, with an area of 3850 km2 and its neighbors to the north of Satu Mare and Maramureş west and south-western district of Bihar and south-eastern county of Cluj.
