Mangalia (44 km from Constanta), permanent spa. It is a pattern as old as Tomis, the ancient colony of Callatis named (from Calles river in Asia Minor). It was founded by the Greeks in BC sec.VI and developed in Roman times (sec. II-IV d.Hr) and revitalized by the Genoese (XIII-XIV) who called Pangalia. Mangalia, the southernmost resort on the Black Sea coast, climate is sweet, similar to the Mediterranean, making spring arriving earlier and autumn is here more delay.
Mangalia is the only sea side resort which has mineral springs (sulfur, mesothermal and radioactive, used in Roman antiquity). The treatment includes the rehabilitation wards, facilities for hot sulfur water baths and seawater nămoloterapie, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, sauna, medical gyms, geriatrics clinics (Gerovital).
