From the Turks they borrowed the meatballs (beetles), from the Greeks took the muscat (in their own style, replacing the potato brute), the schnitzel comes from the Austrians and the list can continue with ease. Many Romanian cuisine comes from the Balkan region and Eastern Europe (including Moldova and Ukraine). Others are original. Among the most common is the mămăliga (pollen precursor) that eats alone, with cheese (bulz) or with fish brine. It's a delight. The capital of the country is Bucharest, and the official language is Romanian, spoken by about 89% of the population. The Hungarian language is spoken by about 7% of the population, mainly in Transylvania, and about 1.5% of the national population also speaks German.

Urbanism, architecture and space use

Bucharest is the capital city and the largest city. It is the place where you can still admire the ancient architecture of many churches from the 17th-18th centuries and a university dating back to 1864. Between the two world wars, Bucharest was considered a cultural center called "Paris of the East". Later, however, his character became more industrial and commercial. However, there are still cultural attractions, including the National Museum of Art, theaters and a national opera, alongside the largest university in the country.

Other major cities in Romania include Brasov, Constanţa, a Black Sea port; Cluj-Napoca, located in the center of Transylvania; and Timisoara in the Eastern Banat region. Traditional houses are seen from a distance, with red tile roofs, corrugated board or wooden shingles. In Moldova and Wallachia, most homes are white, and in Transylvania you will find houses in different colors.

Labels

Romanians are known for their hospitality and generosity. They are accustomed to offering their guests abundant food and traditional drink. They pride themselves on their culture and the simple but beautiful way of life. Men show their respect to a woman raising her hat and bowing her head slightly in front of her, then kissing her hand. She usually gets up from the chair to give her the seat. It is also customary to give in to the elderly.
